David Owen, O.B.E.Director
David was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge where he gained an MA. Currently he holds the following positions: Hon. Treasurer - Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Ltd; Trustee – Black Country Museum Development Trust, Trustee – Walsall Museum and Art Gallery Development Trust. David was a Member of the Council of Aston University from 1980 to 2002 and was awarded an Hon. DSc at Aston University in 1988 and an Hon. DUniv at the University of Central England in 2000. David has just retired as Chairman of the RO Group and handed over to his Brother John, he is however still active in one or two projects for the Group.
David has been a Director of the Holdings Board since 1984 and was Chairman from 1989 to 1993 and has been involved with the SVR since it became a Holding Company. He is particularly involved with the strategy and funding of the SVR as a plc and the financial issues involved in planning for the future.
