Mike BallVice Chairman
Mike was elected to the position of Deputy Chairman of SVR (Holdings) PLC in 2009 and again in 2011. He continues to support the Chairman and General Manager in the many challenges facing the Company over the next few years.
Mike joined the railway in 1986, joining the station staff at Highley. He qualified as a signalman and guard during the following years and became a Director of the SVR Company Ltd in July 2003. He was Chairman of the Operating Committee for seven years and was heavily involved in the fundraising following the flood damage of 2007.
During his career Mike has had experience in product design, finance and administration, development and implementation of computer business systems, and customer services. Mike worked for Honeywell of the USA and for Bull of France in a career spanning 35 years. Prior to taking early retirement Mike’s role was Director of Customer Services for the UK and Ireland, a multi-million pound business with a staff of some 800 people.
