Images on social media show locomotive 20177 at Booth's for scrapping. The locomotive was brought to the railway as a spares donor for preserved sisters 20188 and 20059, which have now left the railway. The removal of 20177 was therefore expected.

With the assistance of the Midland Railway Centre, D8059 is now a dual braked loco again with the fitting of a spare overhauled exhauster. The exhauster had packed up, so for the last couple of months D8059 has been air brake only and working in multiple with D8188 when on vacuum only stock.

Both D8059 and D8188 are serviceable, but no longer used by SVR (SVR website). Both have been visiting other railways for galas and events in 2017, as shown on the SVR Wiki.
