75069 arrived on the SVR from Barry Scrapyard in 1973 and returned to traffic in 1984. In1994, on hire to the West Somerset Railway. During the visit the boiler incurred some failures and, on return by road, the locomotive was withdrawn from service. In 2009 when work was carried out to assess the condition of the boiler which revealed that significant work would be required, and overhaul finally began in 2013. Progress on this continues at Bridgnorth Loco Works with a return pencilled in for the end of 2017 (SVR News Summer 2017).

The frames and running gear are advanced with some work needed on the front cylinder and valve chest covers. On the boiler both tubeplates, the inner doorplate and foundation ring followed by large and small tubes, header and elements, all are still to be fitted. Five images added.
