Subject to a final signed hire agreement between Severn Valley Railway (Holdings) Plc and Locomotive 45231 Limited, Network Rail registered ‘Black 5’ No 45231 ‘The Sherwood Forester’ is expected to join the pool of resident steam locomotives for the Summer peak period.

The locomotive is planned to arrive at the railway in mid-July, staying with us until late September 2018. The added bonus of this is that 45231 is available to join the cast of locomotives for the Autumn Steam Gala on the 20th to the 23rd of September.
