On January 2nd 2017 no. 4566 retired from service at the end of the boiler’s ’10-year ticket’ and was stored at Bridgnorth.

On June 25th visiting diesel-electric 33108 tripped 4566 from Bridgnorth to the south of the line. Paul Pearson's image shows 4566 at Bewdley. She is to have some cosmetic work at Bewdley before storage in Kidderminster Carriage shed.
