November 29th 2016 - 7714 has moved under her own steam following overhaul. The locomotive, which will soon join our operational fleet of engines, was in action at Bridgnorth Station today.
November 2nd 2016 - Subject to availability, she was due to feature in the 'Season Finale Gala' from November 4th - 6th 2016. Unfortunately, we regret to announce that despite our best endeavours, Pannier Tank No. 7714 will not make a return to service at our forthcoming Season Finale Gala from November 4th - 6th. She will also miss her booked photocharter on November 8th.
The locomotive still requires the completion of some smokebox fittings and pipework. Even if these items had been fitted, the locomotive still requires a final boiler insurance steam/functional test, followed by a reasonable amount of running in and testing. It has become apparent, despite the hard efforts of Engineering Services staff in the last few weeks, that the Friday deadline is unachievable.
Unfortunately, No. 7714 will not be viewable during the Gala as it will be receiving final touches.
It is planned for No. 7714 to operate on some of our more lightly loaded trains in late November/December, with the loco expected to become a valuable member of the operating fleet in 2017.
