One of our stalwarts, Frank Cronin, celebrated 50 years on the SVR on November 26th. By special arrangement the 10.20 from Bridgnorth diagram was crewed by Frank and his son Kev, himself a regular driver and a director of the SVR Company. It was Frank's last 'link 1' turn. A lovely celebration.

The MRTS headboard refers to Frank's long association with the Manchester Rail Travel Society, owners of SVR-based 'Jinty' steam locomotive No. 47383, currently resident in The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley. The headboard was used on the trains Frank and Bernard Crick organised in 1966-68 to raise funds to buy the locomotive.
